Fourth of July Decor

If you’ve been a reader for a while you know by know how much I love to shop at Pick Your Plum, and no they don’t pay me to say that. I just love getting craft stuff from them. Its not always the easiest thing for me to leave the house and go craft shopping with twin 3 year olds (OMG they are almost 3!!)

A couple weeks ago I ordered some washi tape (always adding to my growing collection) and some patriotic decor. First up was this super cute FREEDOM wood cut out. I wasn’t sure exactly what I was going to do.. I just knew it was going to be red, white and blue.

I started with the bare wood and sprayed about 100 coats of white spray paint before getting completely frustrated and finishing them with a good old paint brush.

It really didn’t matter what they looked like paint wise I just knew I wanted white on the back and the sides so they would have a finished look.

I picked up some cute paper at Michaels and simply traced the letters right onto the paper and cut them out.  Talk about easy.

I used some Elmers Spray Adhesive on the wood and placed the paper to it. Once the wood was covered I applied a top coat of Mod Podge.

The Mod Podge isn’t completely necessary but I want these letters and the paper on them to last a while and Mod Podge is my go to sealer.

Finished Product!

Patriotic Right? I love it!
